Grateful For God’s Church

“not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

HAPPY SUNDAY YALLLLL

I am so excited for this day because this is when I get to worship with other believers. Worship happens everyday in our everyday lives but the gathering of the saints weekly takes that adoration we express to God on a daily basis to another level.

I am thankful for  virtual, physical, hybrid, home and all other forms of the coming together of believers.

Last year when the pandemic shut churches down many were outraged and rightfully so but from that experience brought about a few things.

  1. An awareness and appreciation of how important the gathering of the saints is. We in the western world have had very little friction when it comes to gathering. While we pray for and feel very deeply for our brothers and sisters around the world persecuted for gathering to worship, it was the pandemic that gave us a glimpse of what it feels like for them to not be able to gather.

  2. Church in different forms. Last year on the first virtual Sunday I had experienced because of the pandemic I had this thought. “Many people were trying to get their children, spouses or parents to church for so long but God made it so the church would come to them”. Probably for the first time, homes were filled with worship, prayer and the word.

  3. We realized the importance of being the church. With churches shut down believers were forced out of the comfort of the four walls and it was liberating. Whether your congregation was your community, household or job, our light was forced to shine and still is.

I’m grateful for the assembling of the saints and I’m also grateful that we were barred from assembling because it was in that moment Mark 16:15 came to life in a greater way. “ And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

The importance of the church locally and internationally can not be understated and today I am thankful for the church in all its forms.
