Grateful For Grace

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Today I am thankful for grace. Specifically the grace talked about in 2 Corinthians 12:9. For so long I’ve been focused on not making mistakes. I was so afraid to show my flaws until I realized that perfection is a fantasy. There is only one who walked this earth that was perfect and He is seated on the right hand of the father making intercessions for us.

When God says "my power is made perfect in your weakness" He is indicating to us that it is not through our own strength that we have power, but our power comes through him. Power to live righteously, power to love the people that are hard to love, power to overcome life's challenges, power to spread the gospel, and yes power to embrace your flaws. That power comes from God and is given to us to complete His will.

Think of yourself as someone drowning in the ocean and Jesus as the lifeguard who came to save you. The best way you can help the lifeguard save you is to relax and let them take full control. The more the drowning person fights, the more difficult they are to save.

Relinquish your power, your weaknesses, your flaws and your control to God. Don’t fight His will for your life. Let Him take full control. He wants to save you more than you want to be saved.

Today rest in the fact that God’s grace is enough. It is enough to cover you in every situation. Give thanks for grace.
