“Manifestation”- A Deviation From God’s Truth
At the beginning of the year I came across an article with the title “ Manifesting can help you live your best life”. In this article, the author is considered an expert in the field. The author touted how this way of thinking and believing changed her life. She went from a boring mundane existence, filled with alcohol and drug addiction, to this self-help guru that has “manifested” love, a child a new career, a best-selling book and an all-around abundance filled life through manifestation. She now helps others on their journey to creating a new life through manifestation.
No one can deny that these things are evident and facts in her life. As I lay there thinking and contemplating her words. I did not know how to feel. As a believer, I know where my source and help comes from. But as a believer who has been experiencing a period of spiritual drought and a time of questioning, I started to lean into her words.
Initially I had the stank face, and protested her reality based on my head knowledge of God, but as I slowly felt my head knowledge giving way to my flesh and a genuine desire to want to turn things around in my life, I felt myself giving credence to this phenomena that seems to now be the new “IT” thing and buzzword in todays modern world.
I laid there pondering this thing called MANIFESTATION. Laying there at a crossroads of spirit and mind. What should I believe? What should I hold onto? And in this moment, the faint voice of the spirit crept in. “ This is the worlds attempt to quietly erase the “WORD” of God from the consciousness of the creation He loves.” It’s a direct attack and affront to His Love for humanity.
What I didn’t realize at that moment, was the knowledge of God’s truth and the leading of the spirit was quietly lifting my spirit from the slump it was in.
In the article, the author stated that in order for manifestation to work we need to first approach it with a spirit of gratitude. This is exactly the mindset that the Bible instructs believers to have when it states, in 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. As well as Colossians 3: 15 – 17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
What needs to be highlighted here is that true gratitude is couched in our knowledge of God. By allowing his peace to calm our hearts and minds. Through relationship with others and devotion to his will.
My father told me as a child that a good lie is never blatantly overt. Then the person you are trying to deceive will laugh at you. A good lie is a small deviation from the truth.
I used to wonder, how the very elect would be deceived. But if we take a good look around us, God is slowly being removed from our collective consciousness by “the good” the world has to offer.
In the article, the author states that a life manifested does not envy others but looks at what others have from a place of abundance, knowing that it can also be yours. But the TRUTH of the matter is that abundance comes from HIM. Psalms 24: 12 The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
The author also doesn’t want you to think that you can just think it and it happens, but she puts credence behind her words by supporting the route of action and effort to gain this abundance. Here in is the small deviations
As a believer we know the famous scripture, James 2; 26 -For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. In addition, Deuteronomy 28: 12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.
As these scriptures rushed to my mind, the spirit of the Lord encouraged me to continue believing, to continue sharing his Word so as to not allow our brothers and sisters - believing or not- to be deceived.
As you go throughout your day, I admonish you to watch and pray. The devil is as a roaring lion seeking to destroy and deceive us all. Share the Word of God with someone and keep the name of the true and living God alive in the earth.
Be blessed yall!
