Thank God For Music

Hey faith filled friend, I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday but if you’re not then keep reading, I believe this blog will lift you up on the melodious wings of music.

When God first dropped in my spirit that today we will be thankful for music I laughed. I thought it such a trivial thing to be thankful for. Then I thought what would the world look, feel and be like without music. I needed only to look at my one year old daughter who every day comes home with a new song to share with me to realize how much of an impact music has.

Going further I went back to 1 Samuel 16 when David played the harp for Saul to drive away the evil spirits that tormented him. This story along with the countless others in the Bible where music was used for things like praise, when the Israelites were free from Egypt, or for war like when Joshua told the people to shout and blow the trumpet after walking around Jericho, all show us the power of music. 

Through experience we all know that music can change your mood, and it can also bring down the presence of the Lord when we worship. I thank God for this tool that seems so trivial but really is a secret weapon in life. 

Today I want you to play your favorite song and thank God for his gift of music. If you want to go a step further pray for artists around the world who are evangelizing, teaching, preaching and saving souls through the gift of music. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
